See which models are rising, which are falling, and how long each company has held the #1 spot. As new models enter the arena, older models often drift downward in the rankings — even if they haven't changed at all. We capture that story.

Elo Rating System: LMArena uses an Elo-based rating system where models compete head-to-head based on human preferences. When users vote for which response they prefer, the winning model gains points and the losing model loses points.
Why scores drift: Elo is a relative measure. When a new, better model enters the arena and beats existing models, those existing models lose Elo points — even if they haven't changed at all. This is why tracking scores over time reveals the pace of AI progress.
Data collection: We collect leaderboard snapshots daily to track how each model's ranking evolves over time.
